Every year, I look forward to March and April when the Lindemann Young Artist recital series starts. What is a Lindemann Young Artist and what is so great about the recitals? My favorite Lindemann Young Artist pianist, In Sun Suh.From the Metropolitan Opera description:"Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, founded more than 30 years ago by Music Director James Levine, has nurtured the most talented young artists to prepare them for major careers in opera. Graduates include Stephanie Blythe, Dwayne Croft, Mariusz Kwiecien, Heidi Grant Murphy, Nathan Gunn, Lisette Oropesa, and Danielle de Niese, among others."The recitals are FREE and it's just a pianist with the opera singer. What a lovely intimate recital experience. I plan to go late in March to see my favorite pianist, In Sun Suh, play. She is so passionately talented that when she plays, I don't even notice the singer. An interesting little known fact about this wonderful Lindemann Young Artist program.: When the musicians and singers audition, James Levine's priority is NOT talent. The maestro is looking for people who exhibit humility and the desire to work hard. He has picked less experienced raw talent over arrogant and extremely talented artists.Candid shot of me dancing in my head. I have on the Champagne Bubbles Earrings.Have a wonderful weekend.
