On Sunday, I got to meet Mari Luangrath of Foiled Cupcakes in the most intimate way...doing our paws and claws. I first saw her speak at BlogWorld Expo 2011 at the Javitz Center, NYC earlier this year. Mari was on a panel discussing how she grew her young company, FoiledCupcakes.com, solely through social media networks. This flavor, Plain Jane, is from FoiledCupcakes.com Impressed by what I heard and saw, I started following her on twitter. With a few interactions, I was lucky enough to find out Mari was coming through NYC this weekend. This "cupcakeologist", is not only a mother, but a sharp, innovative business woman. Her entire business, built without a brick and mortar location, has grown completely through the personalized and warm social networking relationships she and her employees have developed over the past couple years. Smart and pretty, too? Unfair. Photo courtesy of Investors.com I love meeting women like Mari who constantly inspire me to innovate and believe. And, what a plus, I got to get my nails done, too. Would that have happened with a male CEO tweet-up? I love this new pink color.
