As you read in yesterday's post, I taught my first beginner beading class in my new office last night. I had two students who discovered the class through my weekly newsletter. They had shopped at my store in Limelight Marketplace.Besides experiencing their enthusiasm to learn a skill that I can do with my eyes closed, I found great joy in their excitement to design and produce their very own pieces. Byungran gravitated immediately to the carnelian and citrine stones, creating a 25 inch beaded beauty. Armed with milk chocolate for energy, these two new students beaded for an entire hour with their focus on knotting correctly throughout their necklaces. Sojin created two bracelets to take home with her.Sojin couldn't believe that she could make something she just purchased only days ago. Here are the two beauties showing off their new designed pieces. A nice way to spend an hour and half after work, with your bestie, designing something you can wear home that night. The next beginner jewelry skill class I will be teaching is Make Your Own Wire Wrap Semi-Precious Stone Necklace. The skills for this will arm you with the ability to make/repair necklaces, bracelets and earrings like these below:Once you know wire-wrapping, you can make these Garden of Eden earrings. or, you can make this bracelet:The Royal bracelet is all wire-wrapped.If you would like to arrange a private small jewelry making hour in my studio office, weekday or weekend, it would be a girlilicious NYC treat, contact me at orders (at) tinatang (dot) com.
