Thaisong - Emit Freedom

tina tang

While I was in Thailand, I came across this fair trade business operating from there that croquets handbags from recycled plastic bags. The hands that carefully and intricately weave these eco-friendly bags rely on this to empower, change, and provide a better world for their families and themselves. These women come from shattered, poverty stricken, and/or unfairly destined lives, but have the strength, power, and the hope for a different world. I bought mine there for only $30. The recycled plastic bags have been washed, cleaned, and dried. You can stretch out the handle for your desired length. Even the tag is made from recycled cardboard! (http://thaisongfairtrade.org/)I’m excited its beach weather here in NewYork, so I can sport it with my beachwear! Does anyone have any eco-friendly/go green fashion wear to share?

  • I’m Jeremy from Thai Song Fair Trade and I just wanted to thank you so much for publishing an online article about our project. Thank you so much for acting as an advocate for us and supporting these women to press on.
I assume you came to know about our project through YWAM or..?
This month we celebrated our 1st anniversary and have recently hired 2 more women. We are working on developing new products in time for Christmas including cell phone purses and earrings.
Again, thank you very much and I look forward to hearing from you,

    Jeremy
